Developing your confidence in God |
Mathew 6: 25-34
25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
| Counsel: | Why? |
| If you trust in God 1) you should be patient 2) you should not complain |
Because God always takes care of you. |
Colossians 3:1-4
1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
| Counsel: | Why? |
| Learn to delight (desire with great affection) in the things of God. | For you are dead, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. |
Romans 12:1
1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
| Observation: | Counsel: |
| If your church meetings seem boring, perhaps your life is boring as well! | Present your best to God and He will deliver you from your common life! |
1 John 2: 15-17
15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
| Counsel: | Why? |
| Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. | For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. |
Ephesians 5: 15-16
15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
| Practice: You need to grow in gratitude and knowledge: | How?: As you have opportunity... |
| 10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (Galatians 6:10) | Making good use of your time, as wise people and as foolish, because the days are evil. |
Warning! |
| If you trust God you should obey the Bible and show Him respect since He is the one who blesses you and can cast your soul to hell. Don't make EXCUSES for not practicing the word of God. Don't say it is impossible because the DEVIL wants you to focus on your weakness. Be watchful of what takes up your time:... job... education... marriage... children... relationships... business... that you have forgotten about God. Look at Paul's attitude: (Philippians 3:7-11) But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. {8} What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ {9} and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. {10} I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, {11} and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. AMEN! |
