FORCE 4-10

Empowering Young People to Serve the Lord

Eph 3:20
"... according to His power that is within us."

Introduction

This curriculum was made specially for the youth in the churches of Christ.  It is our desire for young Christians to have a strong foundation in the basics of the Gospel of Jesus Christ so they can face and triumph over all the evils and temptations they will face in the world.

This curriculum was taken largely from the brethren at the League City Church of Christ.  Brother Ralph Bryant prepared the curriculum in the format you will see here.

We call it 4-10, because it is made up of four sections, each one having 10 points of emphasis. You will find each of the four sections to the left of this web page under the title Curriculum. There are also three tests, one for each section, except for the last. The fourth section is an internship of sorts, which gives an opportunity for the youth in the program to put into practice all they have learned.

Basically each section builds upon the previous one. The whole curriculum centers on ten basic things each disciple of Jesus needs to know about his relationship with God and salvation:

Tell Me Why deals with basic questions many ask about biblical doctrine. This section focuses on teaching the why of our salvation and our relationship with Jesus. Students must memorize the basic points made in each section. You can cover this section in three classes, one of them dedicated to the exam.

Tell Me Where deals with supporting all the major points made in section one with the Bible. We simply add the biblical component in this section of the curriculum. Students must learn all these passages and how to find them in their Bible. You can cover this section in three classes, one of them dedicated to the exam.

In Tell Me What the students memorize 10 Bible verses having to do with the general theme of the curriculum. You can cover this section in three classes, one of them dedicated to the exam.

In Just Do It!, students commit themselves to an intensive internship in differing ministries of the church. In other words, each student is supervised by an adult involved in a specific ministry at the local church. You will find many suggestions and some forms to help you keep track of this practical part of the curriculum. Since this section is different from the rest, it could take three to four weeks to complete for each student.

You can encourage the youth to participate by offering some reward for the three highest grades achieved.
