2.2 Four reasons Jesus came to earth.

1. To die on the cross for our sins.

2. To lay a foundation for His church.

3. To set a perfect example for us to follow.

4. To deliver the gospel to mankind.
(Rom 1:16-17)

2.3 Differences in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Old Testament- Before Jesus
1. Teacher (schoolmaster) to lead us to Christ. (Gal 3:24)
2. Justified by works. (Gal 2: 16)
3. Forgiveness by repetitive sacrifice of animals. (Heb 10:3,4 & 10,12)

New Testament- After Jesus
1. Jesus came, bringing the new and doing away with the old law. (Col. 2:14)
2. Justified by faith. (Gal. 3:24)
3. Forgiveness by the sacrifice of Jesus, once for all. (Heb. 7:27; 9:12; 10:2,10; 1 Pe. 3:18)

2.4 How we are saved under the new law - "Grace-faith system"

1. We know that we sin and that we cannot earn salvation. (Romans 3:23)
2. a. God sent Jesus to die on the cross (Rom 5:8)
    b. God gives us the free gift of salvation by His grace. (Rom 3:24)
    c. We must accept the gift of salvation by faith in Jesus. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
3. Saving faith = Believe (Heb 11:6) 
                + Obey (James 2: 17-18)
                = Faith

2.5 Six Steps to salvation.

2.9  Who is the indwelling Holy Spirit? 

When we are baptized, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who helps us to live the Christian life:

1) He mortifies (put to death) the deeds of the body (sin) (Romans 8:10,13)
2) Quickens (gives new life to) our mortal bodies. (Romans 8:11)
3) Leads us. (John 16:13)
4) Bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. (Romans 8:16,17)
5) Intercedes (help us) in our prayers to God. (Romans 8:26,27)

Individual Worship:
