Our brother Charlie was born and raised in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States at the age of 15. He first heard the word of God at Stony Brook University through brothers and sisters from the Long Island Church of Christ where he still serves to this day. After years of atheism and confusion he was finally baptized into Christ in June of 1992.
Charlie has served faithfully in the college ministry at Stony Brook University and was used by God to start the Spanish ministry at the Long Island Church of Christ, where he also serves as an evangelist.
He married our sister Bernadette Gomez in 1998 and they have one son, Christian Gomez.
As an elder he seeks to teach, shepherd and guide every member of the congregation.
Our brother Charlie enjoys sports, reading, writing, acting, working out and spending time away with his family.
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. ” 1 Timothy 1:15-16
