Women's Day 2016

Ladies, come and join us for Women’s Day 2016, a day of spiritual renewal and encouragement. This year’s topic is Singing in the Valley. The theme scripture is Psalm 23:4 (NIV): "Even though I walk through the valley...I will fear no evil, for you are with me."

As we all know, life is a journey that takes us through different paths. Some paths are through the mountain tops when life seems light and simple. Some paths also take us through the valleys of life: times of trial and difficulty. As much as we will prefer to bypass them, valleys are a part of God’s design for our lives. Join us as we seek to look at life’s valleys through God’s eyes. Together, we will explore God’s word and learn how to not just walk, but sing through life’s valleys.

Lesson 1: Walking Through the Valley

No one bypasses life’s valleys. In fact, all the great men and women in the bible encountered valleys. Some things in life God has chosen to make difficult. But Why? Isn’t God good, kind, merciful and all powerful? Yes He is! God has a plan to grow and strengthen our faith, to help us long for eternity. This life isn’t the final story and God uses valleys to remind us of this. Let’s strive to see the valley through God’s eyes.

Lesson 2: Singing in the Valley

"Singing" in this context is not an emotion. It’s a mindset that accepts God’s verdict on the matter at hand and hopes in Him, trusting that He is good. In the valley, we become acutely aware of how limited we are. We can choose anger, rebellion, bitterness, OR we can draw closer to Jesus because He is right there with us, in the thick of it all. Our perfect heavenly father is strong enough to see us through and will give us just what we need.
